Journalist shares whether Leandro Trossard was signed in time to play for Arsenal on Sunday
The Gunners are still awaiting confirmation but had Trossard at London Colney this morning and think they sent everything off by the midday deadline.
The Gunners have moved rapidly to get Trossard over the line, after missing out on Mykhailo Mudryk to Chelsea last week.
Arsenal think Trossard signed in time and can play against United
They needed squad depth in attacking areas of the pitch and have got their alternative choice done swiftly, at a decent price.
Trossard is Premier League proven, so the theory is that he will be able to slot right into the team without much need for adjustment.
That is not something which applies to Mudryk, or Joao Felix, who will both be trying to help Graham Potter turn his fortunes around at Stamford Bridge.
Arsenal struggled to break down Newcastle in their last home game, and only made one substitution in that match as they struggled for alternatives to unlock the door.
Now, they look soon to have Trossard available, and they are hoping he will be an option in reserve when Erik ten Hag’s side come to town.
A goal on debut would be an ideal way to introduce himself, and he will be hoping it comes on Sunday. If not, Arsenal’s next game is against Manchester City on Friday night in the FA Cup fourth round.
