Newcastle United star Bruno Guimaraes has been linked with a shock move to Real Madrid, but Dean Jones believes a transfer is ‘highly unlikely’ in this window.
The Brazilian only joined the Magpies in January this year, but he has already become a fan favourite. Everybody at St James’ Park loves him, and his presence in the middle of Newcastle’s park has improved them massively.
The last thing Newcastle need now is to lose Guimaraes less than a year after they signed him.
Rumours linking him with a move to Real Madrid have definitely become a concern to Magpies supporters, but Jones has some positive news on the subject.
Bruno Guimaraes unlikely to leave Newcastle and join Real Madrid
Real Madrid sold Casemiro to Manchester United just a few days ago. The Brazilian is among the best players in his position in the world, and the Galacticos are reportedly looking for a replacement.
Spanish outlet AS revealed that Guimaraes is on top of Real Madrid’s wish list to fill Casemiro’s shoes at the Bernabeu.
When Real Madrid want a player, they end up getting him more often than not, but Jones feels signing Guimaraes is extremely unlikely in this transfer window.
The journalist told GiveMeSport: “I’m told it is highly unlikely he leaves.
“It would be a massive loss and a massive disappointment. But stranger things have happened in football.”

TBR View:
Guimaraes has arguably been Newcastle United’s best player since he made his full debut for the club last season.
The Brazilian is one of the biggest reasons why the Magpies stayed up last term, and if he continues his form, he will surely help them finish higher than they did in 2021/22.
Carlo Ancelotti knows the Premier League really well, and he would be keeping an eye on what’s going on here in England. Guimaraes has impressed all of us, and we’re not surprised that he has caught the eye of the Real Madrid boss as well.
As things stand, Guimaraes will stay at Newcastle, but football is a funny game, and anything can happen in the next eight days.
