Ivan Toney to Arsenal has been the transfer rumour of this window.
The Brentford striker has been continuously linked with a move to Arsenal, but, as of yet, it would appear no progress has been made on this front.
Speaking on The Spurs Chat Podcast, Ryan Taylor has now shared the latest that he’s heard on this transfer saga, and he says that Arsenal have recently told him that there’s just not enough money in terms of FFP leeway for the Gunners to get this deal done in the January transfer window.

Arsenal can’t afford Toney
Taylor shared what Arsenal have told him about the striker.
“Ivan Toney is expected to leave Brentford at the end of the season. My understanding is that he will stay at Brentford this January. There has been interest from Arsenal, but my latest information from Arsenal is that there’s just not enough money and finances in terms of FFP records to pull off a deal like this,” Taylor said.
No money around
This has been the story of the transfer window so far.
For the first time in a long time there really isn’t much money going around in the Premier League.
Arsenal, Newcastle, Manchester United and Chelsea have all been hamstrung by these FFP regulations this month, and you can understand why they want to toe the line after the Premier League charged Nottingham Forest and Everton for rule breaches on Monday.
The era of free-spending in the Premier League genuinely looks to be over, and that is an issue for teams like Arsenal who need reinforcements in order to fulfil their sporting ambitions.
Whether Arsenal can get any business done this month remains to be seen, but the outlook doesn’t seem all that positive on that front at this moment in time.
Toney may have to wait to get his move.
