Journalist shares the signing West Ham want to make more than any other

West Ham United have been busy this summer.

The Hammers have already signed Max Kilman, while they’re showing plenty of intent in other areas.

Indeed, West Ham are still working on signing Jean-Clair Todibo, while Aaron Wan-Bissaka is also said to be a target for the Hammers.

However, according to Ben Jacobs, West Ham have another priority signing in mind.

Speaking on mufcMPB’s YouTube channel, Jacobs has been discussing West Ham’s plans for the remainder of this transfer window, and he says that the Hammers’ priority is to sign a striker.

West Ham prioritising new striker move

According to Jacobs West Ham’s priority is to sign a new striker.

“In terms of West Ham’s priority, I would say that in terms of budget and movement is still a striker, but that’s not to say that they won’t move concurrently and we know on the striker front they have looked at a number of players, they’ve made an inquiry about Jonathan David and have been in talks about Jhon Duran but Aston Villa’s £40m asking price is too high.”

West Ham’s striker struggles

This isn’t the first time we’ve gone into a summer with West Ham needing a striker.

Indeed, the Hammers have been having serious problems in this position for quite some time now, and many of their supposed solutions haven’t cut the mustard.

Gianluca Scamacca, Danny Ings and Sebastien Haller all, ultimately, didn’t prove to be good enough, and at the fourth time of asking, West Ham need to get this right.

Of course, picking out a quality striker is much easier said than done, and while West Ham are likely to throw money at this situation, it’s more about talent identification than it is about spending power when you’re shopping for a centre-forward.

Fingers crossed West Ham will be able to get this right this time around.
