Journalist Pete O’Rourke has told Give Me Sport that Tottenham Hotspur will consider a move for Lautaro Martinez if they get wind that the Inter Milan forward is available, insisting that Fabio Paratici and Antonio Conte are massive fans of the Argentinian.

Martinez has been heavily linked with Spurs for much of the last 12 months. He has established himself as one of the best forwards playing in Europe currently.

Reports last summer claimed that Tottenham agreed a £60 million fee to sign Martinez. Obviously, the move did not go through. And the 24-year-old has gone on to enjoy another brilliant year with the Nerazzurri.

He has scored 16 goals in 40 in all competitions. In that, he has 14 in 28 in Serie A. And with Conte now in place at Tottenham, it is no surprise to see Spurs being linked once again.

Reports claimed that Tottenham want the £75 million-rated star. And O’Rourke has provided a further update, suggesting that it is a deal that many in North London would want if possible.

“I think Fabio Paratici is a big fan of Lautaro Martinez, as is Antonio Conte,” he told Give Me Sport.

“If they get any indication that maybe a deal can be done, I’m sure they will consider it.”

Tottenham signing Lautaro Martinez would put rivals on notice

Tottenham are certainly sending out a message to their rivals this season. Antonio Conte’s side are flying right now. And they look to in pole position to finish in the top-four.

This summer could be a pivotal one. Surely, finishing fourth will boost their hopes of keeping the likes of Conte and Harry Kane. And it will also open the door for some exciting deals in the market.

Signing Martinez would be a massive statement. He is a fantastic forward, and he can play in a variety of positions.

There are still areas that need improving. But adding Martinez to the current crop of attacking players would be an amazing move from Tottenham.
