Journalist Dean Jones has told Give Me Sport that Liverpool will definitely be interested in signing Declan Rice amid speculation over his future ahead of the summer transfer window.
Rice is once again a talking point. The Guardian reported at the weekend that he has rejected a new contract at the London Stadium. The latest offer from West Ham was worth around £200,000-a-week.

His current terms expires in 2024. And the Guardian claims that he is open to leaving West Ham in the summer. The Irons however, have no intention of selling the midfielder during the coming window. They plan to reject every single offer for the England international.
The Guardian notes that David Moyes values Rice at more than £150 million.

Rice has been absolutely ‘outstanding‘ for a number of years now. It is almost scary to think he only turned 23 at the start of this year. And it would be no surprise to see him linked with a host of clubs.
And Jones has claimed that Liverpool will be one of those who weigh up a move for Rice when the opportunity arises.
“Of course, they’re going to be interested in Declan Rice because if Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea have had that player on their radar, then you kind of at least have got to consider whether you’re going to need him,” he told Give Me Sport.
Liverpool move for Declan Rice looks unlikely while asking price goes near £150 million
It is absolutely no surprise that West Ham value Rice at such a high price. He is one of the best holding midfielders in the world already. And there is scope for him to get considerably better.
He is developing at a time when West Ham are making real progress as a club. So selling him this summer would be incredibly difficult to justify.
Certainly, it is hard to see Liverpool making a move for Rice while the asking price is anywhere near that high. A move would see the Reds’ record transfer almost double.
It seems much more likely that Jurgen Klopp’s men may try their luck in 2023 in the hope that his price has dropped considerably. Or perhaps, they may wait even longer and see if he becomes a free agent the following year.
