The transfer window is open, and that means it’s the season of rumours, hearsay and speculation.

Indeed, while concrete announcements are really all that matter, there are tons of reports and rumours that do the rounds in these transfer periods.

Arsenal are one team who are at the centre of a lot of speculation at the moment, but, by the sounds of it, it’s tough to get an accurate read on Arsenal’s transfer plans right now.

Indeed, according to Dean Jones, speaking on the Ranks FC Podcast, it’s very difficult to get any information out of Arsenal at the moment.

Jones says that he’s noticed this summer that information on Arsenal is harder to come by, claiming that the Gunners are working a lot harder to protect any transfer news from leaking.

Arsenal news isn’t leaking as much

Jones shared what he’s noticed when speaking to his transfer sources about Arsenal.

“What I’ve noticed about Arsenal is that information is slightly harder to get this summer than it is in past years. I think they’re trying to keep the doors locked in terms of big information,” Jones said.

Arsenal could surprise people

Jones says that Arsenal are keeping a lot of their big information under wraps at the moment, and that is very exciting.

Indeed, while it may be frustrating for some to be in the dark about what Arsenal are doing, the idea that Arsenal have a few tricks up their sleeve is interesting.

In this day and age, it’s so hard for a transfer to happen without a massive amount of reporting around it beforehand, but, if Arsenal are keeping their cards close to their chest, perhaps they could have a surprise signing up their sleeve.

We saw Fabio Vieira arrive without much noise a few years ago, and perhaps we will see a similar sort of deal done this summer.
