The Jurgen Klopp era at Liverpool came to an end this summer.
The German has left Anfield and he’s been replaced by Arne Slot.
It’s fair to say that the Dutchman has some big shoes to fill at Anfield, but his task may not be as difficult as you may first think.
Indeed, speaking to Anfield Index, David Lynch has shared some insight into the latter Klopp-era, and he says that there was a feeling that things had become a bit stale under the German towards the end.
Jurgen Klopp was becoming stale at Liverpool
Lynch shared what he heard about Klopp and his training towards the end.
“Yeah I think it’s interesting isn’t it. We don’t know how Slot’s going to get on, but it’s exciting for the players. This isn’t putting down the Klopp era, but you do hear at times, from people I’ve spoken to recently that a feeling of staleness had started to creep in,” Lynch said.
“Not that they weren’t doing a brilliant job, but when you hear the same voice, do the same thing in pre-season and preparing for games, sometimes it can be a good thing to freshen things up.

Klopp’s energy had vanished
It’s not surprising to hear that Klopp’s methods had become stale by the end at Liverpool.
Some of those players had spent more than half a decade working with Klopp, and the manager himself admitted that his energy levels were waning.
You’re bound to get bored of doing the same things over and over after a little while, and, sadly, that stale feeling began to creep in at Liverpool.
Klopp now has a chance to recharge his batteries before getting back into management, and if he does return, he’ll be back to his very best and full of energy once again.
