It would be fair to say that Josh Windass struggled to fully win over the fans at Rangers during his time at Ibrox. The attacking midfielder often found himself under fire from the Ibrox faithful, with a belief that he sometimes went missing when the going got tough.
Windass was eventually sold by Steven Gerrard last summer, heading to Wigan Athletic where he remains today.
The Mark Warburton arrival has now been discussing his time at Rangers to the Daily Record, ahead of the Old Firm derby this afternoon.

Windass defended himself against such accusations whilst also insisting he loved playing for Rangers, especially against their Glasgow rivals.
He also had some kind words to say about his former team-mate, Alfredo Morelos. He spoke of the Colombian’s early struggles at Rangers and shared his joy that ‘El Buffalo’ has turned things around in Glasgow.
“In my second season, myself and Alfredo Morelos scored and set up a lot of goals.
“I scored 18 and he got roughly the same. Yet we took the brunt of it for most of the campaign.
“Thankfully, Alfredo has turned it around and has now scored a phenomenal amount of goals. He has done brilliantly.”
Both players scored 18 goals each in their one season playing together but Morelos has gone on to become a sensation in front of goal under Gerrard.
Morelos scored 30 goals for the club last season and he will be looking to add to his 10 goals already this season when Rangers face Celtic later today.
If he does, Windass will undoubtedly be cheering him on.
