Josh Risdon the perfect right-back target for Celtic
One area where Celtic clearly need to improve is at right-back. Mikael Lustig is reaching his limits in the role whilst Cristian Gamboa has failed to impress Celtic fans since he arrived at Parkhead.
So should Celtic join the hunt for Australian international Josh Risdon?
As reported by the Sydney Herald last week, Aston Villa are keeping tabs on the Western Sydney Wanderers full-back with a potential January move being mooted.
The 26-year-old defender caught the eye at the World Cup for Australia in the summer, especially for a good performance against eventual winners France.

The 13-cap international could be a perfect recruit for Celtic. Firstly, he is unlikely to be very expensive. On top of that, he has plenty of resale value, something Celtic always consider when buying a player.
But most of all, and of paramount importance, he is an out-and-out attacking right-back who could bring plenty to the Celtic first-team with his displays.
Celtic have undoubtedly been impressed with the impact of Risdon’s compatriot Tom Rogic since he switched the A-League for the SPFL and the right-back could easily have a similar impact at Parkhead.
