Josh Bowler confirms Everton exit with touching post on Instagram, plenty of Under-23 teammates reply
Josh Bowler has confirmed his Everton exit on Instagram with a touching message to the club fans. The 22-year-old has failed to make the desired impact since joining from Queens Park Rangers in 2017. He leaves without making his senior Everton debut.
Bowler, 22, joined Everton four years ago after breaking into the senior side at QPR. Aged just 18, the winger was handed his debut for the second-tier outfit. But in the four years Everton, he only ever remained a key part of the Under-23 side. He did spend a season on loan at Hull City.
But even that temporary spell was largely disappointing. Bowler only scored one goal in 31 games for Hull. Everton have chose not to offer the winger new terms, and now, Bowler has posted on Instagram. He has sent a nice message to Toffees fans, while also thanking the club.
Bowler cost Everton a whopping £4million. The Mirror claim Everton paid an up front fee of £1.5million, plus £2.5million in add-ons. It is unclear how much of those additional fees have been paid given Bowler has failed to make his debut. Now, he will be looking for a new club.
Plenty of Everton players have responded to Bowler’s Instagram post. Youngster Thierry Small telling Bowler that he will be missed. It is believed the winger wants to join a Championship club.
