Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho has suggested that the club will sign a new striker before the transfer window shuts in October.
Spurs have been active in the transfer window, bringing in a number of players including Matt Doherty from Wolves and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg from Southampton.

However, a striker to support and take the load off of Harry Kane has, so far, eluded them. But Mourinho, who was speaking as his side prepare to face Everton on Sunday, is confident a new forward will arrive soon. (quotes from the Daily Mail)
“I want to make it very clear that the club – if you want to call it the club or the structure above me – knows I need a striker and they also want a striker. I believe we will get a striker, I honestly believe so.
‘The team needs it for the balance of the squad. In this moment the squad is getting very balanced and we have different options for different positions.”
The club has been linked with a number of options in the striking position in the last few weeks. Napoli striker, Arkadiusz Milik seems the most prominent name mentioned, although Spurs could baulk at the supposed asking-price of over £30m.

Patson Daka is another name being mentioned, however, he is thought to have no interest in a move to north London, according to the Evening Standard.
Mourinho right to demand a striker, Kane needs the support – TBR View
Spurs have been missing another good striking option for a few seasons now so it is only right that Mourinho demands to his board that they make a move in the market.
For all Harry Kane’s brilliance, he needs support and pressure within the squad. In addition, his injury record is not amazing either.
Hopefully, Mourinho will get his man and Spurs can push closer to the top four this season in what is set to be a busy schedule.
