Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho says he expects Harry Kane to be the first Spurs player back from injury out of those currently sidelined.

The Portuguese has been preparing his charges ahead of Sunday’s Premier League meeting with West Brom at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Spurs have lost three games on the bounce, with Liverpool, Brighton and Chelsea all taking three points off the North Londoners.

Mourinho has also been without several key players in recent weeks, with Sergio Reguilon, Dele Alli, Giovani Lo Celso and Harry Kane all currently sidelined.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Mourinho was asked whether he expected Alli to be fit for Sunday’s 12pm kickoff.

“No,” he replied. “I think from all the guys injured, Reguilon, Dele Alli, Lo Celso, Harry Kane… I think the first one to be back will be Harry.”

Mourinho previously said he hoped to have Kane back for either Everton on February 10 in the FA Cup or the match after away to Manchester City on February 13.

Alarm bells are ringing loudly at Spurs, with three consecutive defeats causing them to slip down to ninth in the table, seven points away from the top four.

Kane has been especially missed, the Tottenham star man having done so well not only in terms of his conventional centre-forward role but also dropping deeper as a No. 10.

West Brom are in poor form at present but they won’t make life easy for Mourinho and co on Sunday, and it could prove a difficult game for Spurs.
