Jose Mourinho has admitted that Gareth Bale did not train with the rest of the Tottenham Hotspur squad on Monday ahead of Spurs’ clash with Liverpool on Wednesday – in comments reported by Football London.
Bale was missing from the Tottenham squad that faced Crystal Palace at the weekend. Following the 1-1 draw however, Mourinho stated that he believed that the Welshman would be fine for their upcoming trip to Anfield (via Football London).

But the Spurs boss has now issued a more concerning update on the forward. He has suggested that a decision is yet to be taken on whether he could play.
“We still have a training session this afternoon,” he said, as reported by Football London, when asked whether Bale will be available for selection. “Yesterday he didn’t train with the team. He trained inside, not even outside.

“In this moment I’d say not but let’s wait for the feelings and let’s see the training session.”
In truth, it would not be the biggest blow for Tottenham if Bale is not ready. His loan spell is yet to explode into life.
There have been glimpses of what the 31-year-old can do. But he is yet to force his way into Mourinho’s starting lineup on a more consistent basis.
His potential absence would not see Liverpool take Tottenham lightly. Spurs have got themselves to the top of the Premier League without properly unleashing the Real Madrid loanee.
Having said that, Mourinho having him up his sleeve to potentially bring off the bench at Anfield would hand Spurs a huge boost as they look to get back to winning ways.
