Tottenham manager, Jose Mourinho, has moved to address the contract situation with Heung-Min Son and insisted nothing is imminent.
The South Korean star is being widely tipped to sign a new long-term and big-money deal with Spurs in the coming weeks. However, no contract has been agreed as yet.

But Mourinho, speaking (via Goal) ahead of the crucial clash with Liverpool, insists he is calm about the situation and believes things will happen when the timing is right.
“No, I don’t have any news. I’m not a money man but wouldn’t like to be an owner or CEO of one of the big clubs with all this instability. How can you sign a new contract with a player? You don’t know what’s going to happen next season, you don’t know if you can offer the player a better contract,” Mourinho said, speaking about how the pandemic has impacted proceedings.
“I just trust Sonny and Mr Levy. I know both want to stay, if possible, for life and until the end of careers, so I see Son signing a new contract here.”

Son still has two and a half years left to run on his current deal, meaning there is no big rush for Spurs. However, with his goalscoring exploits, the club are said to be keen on both rewarding him and tying him down to new terms.
Mourinho relaxed, which possibly says it all here – TBR View
There’s no need for any panic for Spurs fans over Heung-Min Son. He clearly loves being there and is in the form of his life under Mourinho.
It makes little sense, then, for the club or the player to try and fracture that relationship.
The new deal will come when the time is right. Mourinho knows that, and his demeanour and comments suggest he has huge confidence.
