Jose Mourinho has confirmed that there is “no way” that midfielder Harry Winks will be leaving Tottenham in the January transfer window on loan.
Winks, 24, is a player that came through the academy system at Spurs and has been an important part of the first-team squad in recent years.
The England international is a deep-lying central midfielder that appears to have slipped down the pecking order this season under his manager Mourinho, with no Premier League appearances since October.
He’s started in five of the six Europa League group stage fixtures, but surely the £50,000-a-week star (Spotrac) is worried about his spot with England at next summer’s European Championships.
The Daily Mirror has claimed that Everton are interested in a potential loan deal for Winks, but Mourinho has made a clear comment about his immediate future.
“In relation to Winks on loan in January, no way,” Mourinho said, as quoted by the Daily Mirror.

TBR’s View:
Winks may not be a regular in the starting XI this season, but it would make little sense to let him go as they would be a little light of options in the centre of the park if he exits.
On his day the central midfielder can be influential, with a great range of passing and energy off the ball.
Oliver Skipp, who is currently out on loan at Norwich City, looks like he could slot into the Spurs squad next year as a replacement for Winks.
But it’s not a surprise that Mourinho wants to keep him this year, with the need for a big squad if they want to try win silverware across several competitions.
