Jose Mourinho has admitted that he is not expecting to be able to call upon Erik Lamela for Tottenham Hotspur’s two games this week, in comments reported by Football London.
Spurs have been without Lamela for three games now, including their last two before the international break.

According to Football London, the 28-year-old is currently suffering with an Achilles injury.
And worryingly for Tottenham fans, Mourinho has been unable to provide much of an update on the attacker – apart from suggesting that there is little chance of him playing against Ludogorets and Chelsea.

“Not this week,” he said, as reported by Football London. “Not this week. Not tomorrow or Sunday, I think I can say that. I would be very, very surprised if he said he was able to play Sunday so I will say not this week.”
The good news for Tottenham is they have not exactly been made to miss Lamela. They have won the three games that he has been absent for.
And in that run, they have scored six goals. So they are showing that they have the quality to get through this period without him.
Nevertheless, with nine games in December alone, it would be a big boost for Tottenham if he did return soon.
Spurs currently top the Premier League. They are also involved in a three-way tie at the top of their Europa League group. And they will also contest their Carabao Cup quarter-final tie next month.
So they could certainly do with having Lamela back soon. And Mourinho will be delighted if he could hit the ground running when he does return.
