Jose Mourinho has claimed that he saw lots of positives from Gareth Bale in Tottenham Hotspur’s draw with LASK on Thursday, in comments reported by Football London.
Spurs are through to the knockout stages of the Europa League. But it was arguably not a night in which some of those closer to the periphery of the squad staked a strong claim for more game-time.

Tottenham drew 3-3 in Austria. Bale was one of those who got a goal. The Welshman found the bottom corner after Spurs were awarded a penalty right at the end of the first-half.
The 31-year-old showed glimpses of his quality. And Mourinho did suggest that he was happy with aspects of his performance. However, he also shared that there were things he noticed for the forward to work on.

“I took him out 10-15 minutes before the end to save the last couple of runs,” he said, as reported by Football London. “He has lots of positive things in his game and of course you can see that there are little bits that he has to improve.”
It looks set to be a pivotal time in Bale’s loan spell. It was always unrealistic to expect him to be back to his best within his first couple of months back in North London.
But it does appear that some are starting to question whether he is making enough progress. So perhaps it would be fair to say that some pressure is starting to be applied.
Bale however, will probably be putting himself under more pressure than anyone else is. And there is no doubt that he has the quality to silence any doubters with just one performance.
