There were not many positives for Tottenham Hotspur to take from yesterday’s FA Cup defeat to Norwich City.
With Spurs trailing Leipzig in Europe, it seems another season may pass without a trophy for the club. Add to that the Eric Dier incident and this was certainly a night to forget for Tottenham.
However, one positive to take from the game appears to be the performance of youngster Oliver Skipp.

The 19-year-old was starting his first game for Spurs since the League Cup defeat to Colchester United and played the full 120 minutes.
It was a solid display from the teenager and, as quoted by Football.London, one that had Jose Mourinho very impressed.
“Phenomenal. Very, very good. Very, very good, solid performance. Even with the yellow card I kept him for two hours, first of all because Winks was in trouble, secondly because he was so solid, so mature, so confident that I was never afraid of a second yellow card coming.
“He was always in control of the game. We could see the difference also on the physical condition of him and the people who us (sic) playing all the time.”

Skipp has not been given many chances this season but there is no doubt the youngster is continuing to grow into a top potential option for Tottenham.
With Spurs now facing a busy schedule over the coming week, Skipp could surely find himself in with a chance of some extended playing time now that he has earned Mourinho’s trust.
Given the way Mourinho has reacted to similar performances from Japhet Tanganga, Skipp could be in line for a far bigger role in the Tottenham first-team as a consequence.
