Jose Mourinho has insisted that Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is a lot better technically than many think following Tottenham Hotspur’s North London derby win, in comments reported by Football London.
Spurs are back at the top of the Premier League table. Goals from Son Heung-min and Harry Kane gave them the three points against Arsenal.

Son and Kane were outstanding once again. But Hojbjerg’s display was lauded as a masterclass by a number of Tottenham fans on social media.
As shown by Whoscored.com, he made five clearances and three interceptions. He also made more passes than any other Tottenham player on a day in which Arsenal were allowed to dominate possession.

His understanding of what the game demanded was remarkable. But it would appear that that would have come as no surprise to Mourinho.
The Spurs boss suggested that the Dane is destined to stay in football once his playing days are behind him. And he also disclosed the area in which he does not believe Hojbjerg gets enough credit for.
“Pierre is first of all very intelligent,” he said, as reported by Football London. “He reads the game very well.
“He’s going to be a coach one day for sure. He’s a pain, constantly asking questions about why we do this and that. Physically he’s very, very strong and technically he’s much better than people think.”
It is incredible to think that Spurs paid just £15 million for Hojbjerg (via Sky Sports). He has been an incredible signing.
And given that he is just 25, there looks to be no reason why the midfielder cannot be integral to Mourinho’s plans for several years to come.
