Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho has strongly hinted that Harry Kane could start for Spurs in Sunday’s North London derby.

The Tottenham talisman has been nursing a knock this week, has missed training, and wasn’t involved for his side in their 3-3 draw at LASK in the Europa League.

Speaking after the match, Mourinho stressed that he wasn’t interested in “doing some bluff” about Kane’s fitness ahead of the Premier League clash with Arsenal.

“I believe he’s going to be fit,” the Portuguese told Football London at his post-match press conference. “I’m not sure, he’s on treatment.

“But I could be now doing some bluff or trying to pretend that he’s in big trouble. He’s not in big trouble. I believe he’s going to play.”

Kane has been in simply stunning form this season so far, weighing in with a gargantuan 13 goals and 11 assists from 16 matches in all competitions.

The 27-year-old’s efforts have been crucial in getting Spurs to the top of the Premier League table and into the latter stages of the Europa League and League Cup.

With Tottenham doing so well in the table and Arsenal struggling in the league, the North London derby couldn’t have come at a better time for Mourinho and co.

And the potential return of a player who the manager deemed “magnificent” after netting his 150th Premier League goal last month will come as a huge boost for Spurs.

Mourinho suggested that “some” of the Spurs players aren’t motivated for Europa League group-stage games, but there won’t be such issues on Sunday.
