Jose Mourinho has moved to quash rumours that Tanguy Ndombele has asked to leave the club this summer following reports in France suggesting that was the case.
Telefoot reported not long after the conclusion of Tottenham’s clash with West Ham United yesterday that Ndombele’s relationship with Mourinho had completely broken down and the Frenchman had asked for a summer transfer.

It did not help that Ndombele sat on the bench and never looked likely to come on as Spurs defeated the Hammers 2-0 in North London.
However, Mourinho has made it clear in his post-match press conference (as relayed by Football.London) that there is nothing in the reports, but admitted he was sorry he could not always play all the players he has at his disposal.
“No. There is nothing. I try to do the best for my team. I can’t start with 12 or 13 players sometimes I apologise to the ones I cannot pick.
“No (there’s no truth to a disagreement)…
“You know, it’s not just him. I try to do the best for my team. I cannot start the game with 12 or 13 players, I try to do the best for the team. Sometimes I apologise to my players that are not my first choice because I feel their work in training deserves something more than I give but I have to do my job the best I can and I felt for these two matches I didn’t need him.”
Mourinho was clearly happy with the substitutes he made in the game and felt that Ndombele’s introduction would have been detrimental to Tottenham’s attempts to see out the victory.
Ndombele has had a tough first season at Tottenham and there have been numerous rumblings regarding a negative relationship with Mourinho.
Indeed, the Portuguese has publicly called the club record £55 million (Guardian) signing out for his effort this season.
Last month, it was reported by the Evening Standard that Mourinho and Tottenham were ready to stick by Ndombele for at least one more season.
Judging by the Tottenham manager’s most recent comments that appears to still be the case.
