Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho has admitted that he’s a major fan of attacker Heung-Min Son.
Mourinho has kicked off his Spurs reign in style with back-to-back wins in the Premier League over West Ham and Bournemouth, as well as a victory over Olympiakos in the Champions League group stages.
There are a number of individuals that have been in form since the change of manager and Son has been pivotal in the three wins.
The South Korea international has one goal and four assists already under Mourinho.
Son has also received the individual news that he’s been named the AFC Asian International Player of the Year for a third time.
The 27-year-old can add this year’s prize to winning the award in 2015 and 2017 too, which has received some kind comments from his club manager.
“I want to congratulate Son for his third time Asian Player of the Year,” Mourinho said in his press conference, as quoted by the club’s official Youtube account.
“I’m here for 10/12 days, I’m in love with that guy so I can imagine the people that is here with him five years.
“Fantastic player, fantastic boy. Everybody in the club is so so happy with him.”
Mourinho has shown in the past that he can have a major impact on players and he’s helped some top-class stars over the years.
Son is one of the few Spurs players that has not seen his levels dip this campaign and he’s taken the change of management in his stride.
He now has nine goals and eight assists in just 18 games across all competitions this campaign.
The versatile forward can play anywhere across the attacking line and seems such a likeable character that he must be a manager’s dream.
