Liverpool have long been linked with a move to raid Paris Saint-Germain to sign superstar Kylian Mbappe in the coming months – and Jose Enrique has responded to a supporter when asked if the Reds will get a deal over the line.
Mbappe, 21, has been in stunning form once again for PSG this season – netting an impressive 30 goals in 33 outings, as well as laying on 17 assists in that time. Certainly, the 2018 World Cup winner is getting better and better.
According to Le10 Sport, Liverpool are increasingly confident of landing Mbappe in the summer of 2021 – and are already putting in plans to complete a deal. Indeed, the Mirror claims Jurgen Klopp has spoken to Mbappe’s father.
Mbappe’s contract situation remains crucial. It is believed PSG are in talks to extend such a deal, which expires in the summer of 2022. But Liverpool reckon if he opts against a new deal, they can sign Mbappe in 12 months.
On a post about former Liverpool teammate Steven Gerrard, ex-Reds left-back Enrique was asked by a Liverpool supporter if he reckons Klopp’s side would secure a move for Mbappe – which could be worth £250million (Mirror). Enrique responded.

That is, if Mbappe ignores signing a new contract – or signs a contract that includes a reasonable release clause. In what promises to be a world-record move, Mbappe looks unlikely to join Liverpool right now.
But if the French ace enters the final 12 months of his contract next summer, surely Liverpool are best-placed to land the Frenchman and setting the foundations now is crucial to completing such a move.
