Jose Enrique reacts to Liverpool 3-1 defeat against Leicester

Jose Enrique has stuck up for Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker on Instagram, who has received widespread criticism for his error during the loss against Leicester City on Saturday afternoon.

The Reds conceded three goals in seven minutes to lose 3-1 at the King Power Stadium in a Premier League fixture with Leicester.

Alisson was at the heart of the problems for Leicester’s second, as he came charging out to try clear a ball and a mix up with the defender allowed Foxes striker Jamie Vardy to tap into an empty net.

Jurgen Klopp has now watched his team lose three on the bounce in the league, which is why their hopes of retaining the title look nearly over and they’ll be focusing on a top four finish in the immediate future.

Ex-Liverpool defender Enrique claimed that 28-year-old Alisson was “fantastic” against Leicester, albeit he acknowledged his individual error for Vardy’s goal.”

TBR’s View:

Alisson is understandably being called out for his moment of madness against Leicester, as it looked completely unnecessary for him to come charging out of his goal.

But it’s being magnified after mistakes very recently against Manchester City.

His career at Anfield has been almost faultless up until this season, which is why many have regarded him as one of the top goalkeepers in world.

But he’s going to have to show a lot of character now to come back.
