Ex-Liverpool player Jose Enrique has given is verdict on his former club being linked with Paris Saint-Germain’s superstar Kylian Mbappe.
Journalist Duncan Castles has reported on the Transfer Window Podcast that the Reds are one of several teams interested in the 22-year-old.
It is explained that of all the clubs eyeing the Frenchman, he’s possibly interested in Liverpool, Real Madrid, Barcelona and Manchester United.
It is added that working with Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp and a move to Anfield is one of the options he would consider, albeit sorting his wages could be an issue.
Mbappe has already done so much in the game at such a young age, winning the World Cup with France and also earning four league titles in his homeland.
He’s a striker that can also operate from the left wing, and he’s scored 30 goals in all competition so far this season, with 20 coming in Ligue 1.
Enrique has explained he loves the idea of signing a versatile attacker that can play anywhere across the forward line.
But he’s suggested that Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland is another top-class talent the Merseyside outfit should be looking at trying to sign ahead of next season.
TBR’s View:
Mbappe would be a game-changer for any club that signed him.
It’s unclear on how much it would take to prize him away from PSG, but it would be great to see the speed machine in England at some stage in his career.
He’s already scored 20 league goals in the French division this season, and looks a class above most times he steps onto the pitch.
But whether he could replicate those kind of numbers in the Premier League is a question that many want answering.
Just over a year ago it seemed impossible that anyone could disturb Liverpool’s attacking trio, but Mbappe would get into any XI in the world with his ability and be a genius signing for Jurgen Klopp’s team.
