Jose Enrique has posted on Instagram immediately after Liverpool have sanctioned the loan exit of Marko Grujic to FC Porto, with the Portuguese giants raiding the Premier League for three top talents – and Enrique has backed the deal.
Porto have completed loan moves for Chelsea’s Malang Sarr, Liverpool’s Grujic and West Ham United playmaker Felipe Anderson – with all three moves being confirmed on Tuesday night. Grujic, 24, had impressed in the Carabao Cup this term.
The eight-time Serbia international – who has clocked up 54 appearances in all competitions for Hertha Berlin over the past two years on loan with the Bundesliga side – had scored in a 7-2 win over Lincoln, while also playing in the penalties loss to Arsenal.
Ex-Liverpool star Enrique has posted on Instagram after it was confirmed Grujic had moved to Porto. The Spaniard believes it is a good move for Grujic, given that he would have struggled for game time now Liverpool are out of the Carabao Cup.
TBR’s view – Grujic beginning to show he has a Liverpool chance
His improved form at Hertha during his second campaign in Germany was a sign that Grujic could have a future at Liverpool. Now, the Serb needs to shine in Portugal and continue the momentum.
A campaign filled with goals, assists and regular outings will see Grujic return to Liverpool full of confidence and with a strong chance of breaking into Jurgen Klopp’s side. But a loan, as Enrique says, makes complete sense.
