Jose Enrique has discussed whether Liverpool should consider a move for Bournemouth winger Ryan Fraser given the Scotland international’s contract expires in June – suggesting he could be a bargain purchase for the Reds.
The Mirror have claimed that 26-year-old Fraser has set his sights on a move to north London and Tottenham Hotspur this summer, but Spurs face competition from both Arsenal and Liverpool ahead of the summer window.
Clubs have been given the opportunity to agree a contract with players that are out of contract on June 30, keeping them until the end of the season – and Fraser could be an example of that. However, that would still make him available for nothing.
Enrique, who played 99 times for Liverpool and is an active supporter of the Reds, laid out all the advantages of luring Fraser to Anfield this summer in an Instagram post – stating he is cheap, a good age, and has Premier League experience.
TBR’s view – Yes Fraser is a bargain, but does he add to Liverpool’s side?
Even if Fraser has minimal impact, there is little financial risk and that point all towards the Reds completing a move for the Bournemouth wide man. But is there a space in the side for Fraser?
Xherdan Shaqiri is probably the most similar player to Fraser and the Swiss star has been linked with an exit at Anfield this summer. If Shaqiri goes, Liverpool should sign Fraser – but if the Reds wait, Spurs or Arsenal could swoop.
