Jordon Mutch’s failed MLS loan move shows Crystal Palace made a £4.75 million mistake

Crystal Palace loanee Jordon Mutch completed a massively disappointing spell at Vancouver Whitecaps in late October, returning to England after an injury-hit season.

Mutch’s failed Major League Soccer loan move reveals Crystal Palace made the wrong decision to spend £4.75 million on the midfielder back in 2015.

The Eagles midfielder made his debut in Vancouver in March, yet only went on to make 18 total appearances for the Canadian side.

In those matches, Mutch contributed a paltry two goals and three assists, abysmal numbers in a league with as low standards as MLS.

Sadly, these dreadful statistics across the pond are nothing new for the 26-year-old.

Since signing for Palace in 2015, Mutch has made 40 appearances in all competitions for the club and remarkably scored no goals and offered zero assists.

This staggeringly poor rate of production reveals a player not only out of form, but devoid of all confidence and skill.

And when a loan spell in MLS cannot even bring goalscoring success, it appears all hope may be lost for the Palace man.

Jordon Mutch’s dreadful spell in Canada proves that Crystal Palace made a multi-million pound error when purchasing the midfielder just under four years ago.
