Liverpool skipper, Jordan Henderson, has become the latest player to voice concerns over VAR.
Henderson played a vital role in the goal which saw Liverpool see off Spurs 1-0 yesterday. However, despite the goal eventually been given, Henderson was frustrated with the VAR check following Roberto Firmino’s goal.

The VAR was checking to see if the Liverpool captain had used his hand at any point in the build-up to the strike.
Replays appeared conclusive almost immediately, but the VAR took its time before eventually awarding the goal.
And Henderson admits he’s getting a bit sick of things with VAR.
“I’m sick of hearing about [VAR] and talking about it, to be honest. The Sheffield United, West Ham one. I think we’re talking about it a little bit too much,” Henderson said (Sky Sports, quotes from Liverpool Echo).
“It isn’t great to be able to wait. I’m sure there were goals today disallowed for different reasons. As a player it’s difficult. When you’re waiting 20 or 30 seconds for every single goal it is tough”.

Liverpool have, in fairness, done quite well out of VAR decisions this season. But while Henderson acknowledges it is part of the game, he questions its use at times too.
“I know we try to get everything right but it does take away that passion and emotion from the game so we need to be careful we don’t take that away, because that’s what football is all about,” he added.
VAR once again the talking point – TBR View
It seems we are speaking about VAR every single week. While this incident was pretty clear and tidied up, it has dominated proceedings again.
More and more players are speaking out about it, too. Declan Rice was fuming on Friday evening and as Henderson points out, it is robbing fans of the passion.
Hopefully, come the summer, the powers that be will have sorted some aspects of VAR out and ironed out the issues.
