Jordan Henderson has said ahead of Liverpool’s game with RB Leipzig tomorrow night that Thiago Alcantara is settling in well.
The Reds captain was quizzed by the media on the impact of the former Bayern Munich man ahead of tomorrow’s Champions League clash.
Thiago checked in during the summer transfer window for £20 million but picked up an injury shortly after arriving.
His return to the side has coincided with some horrendous form which has scuppered Liverpool’s plans of retaining their Premier League crown.
Some cynics have suggested that the £192,000-a-week maestro doesn’t really suit Jurgen Klopp’s heavy metal style.
Henderson doesn’t seem to share such a notion, however, and has been singing the praises of the 29-year-old.
He told the club’s official website: “He’s been brilliant since he came to the club, he’s world-class and he’s great to have around. Even off the field, he’s a really good person, leads by example and you can learn a lot from him.
“I think he’s been a fantastic addition to the squad and he’s settled in very well.
“He’s a phenomenal player and hopefully he can just keep improving each time he plays for us.”
TBR View: Thiago has the support of teammates and he’ll come good
Quality players don’t become bad ones overnight and Thiago is still getting to grips with how Liverpool play.
Henderson will know all too well exactly how the Spaniard is feeling. When he first arrived at Anfield he also needed some time to get up to speed for the club.
Of course, the captain was a lot younger when he arrived than what Thiago is now but he’ll still come good for Liverpool.
Henderson has played 390 times for the Reds and collected 56 England caps along the way.
The £140,000-a-week marvel is instrumental to the Liverpool team and his backing will delight Thiago.
