Jordan Henderson and Andy Robertson react as Liverpool confirm exit of 21-year-old

Ozan Kabak has confirmed he will be leaving Liverpool this summer after joining the club on loan from Schalke. He sent a touching three-word message on Instagram to fans. Plenty have responded to the exit of Kabak, including Liverpool stars Jordan Henderson and Andy Robertson.

Kabak, 21, struggled to make the grade at Anfield. Following a few nervous mistakes, the Turkey international picked up an injury towards the end of the season. He leaves after 13 games for the Reds. German newspaper Bild claims Jurgen Klopp has turned down signing him for £18million.

Indeed, Nat Phillips remained Liverpool’s best option at centre-back even after the signing of Kabak and Ben Davies. The latter has not even made his debut for the club. Kabak confirmed he would not be signing a permanent deal with a post on Instagram – which red “thanks for everything”.

What have Henderson and Robertson said about Liverpool letting Kabak go?

Ultimately, spending the best part of £20million to keep Kabak would have been a waste of money. With Phillips now a viable option and Ibrahima Konate being signed, Liverpool also have Joel Matip, Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez as options. Kabak would have been a pointless addition.

Responding to the news that the Turkey ace, who was part of his country’s dismal Euro 2020 showing, has left – both Henderson and Robertson reacted. Among others, they wished Kabak the best of luck going forward.
