This week has seen Wolverhampton Wanderers’ January transfer plans brought to the fore by the Birmingham Mail. They suggest that Wolves want another striker, central playmaker and a back-up for Matt Doherty at right wing-back.
That has seen plenty of players rumoured as targets for the right-sided role. However, Wolves might already have the perfect option to back up Doherty, playing on the other side.
Whilst Jonny Otto has been thriving at left wing-back, he is equally adept on the other side. He recently played for Spain in the right-back role and his ambidexterity means it causes him few problems.

Jonny could, therefore, provide a perfect option at right wing-back, should Wolves find a better option in the transfer market on the left.
The Sun recently reported on Wolves wanting Sheffield Wednesday star Adam Reach, a left-footed star who has operated as a wing-back in the past. Wolves also targeted Manchester City’s talented Ukrainian Oleksandr Zinchenko in the summer, another player who plays from the left.
So perhaps the best option is to bring one of these men in and to let Jonny and Doherty battle it out for the starting right-back slot?
One thing for sure is that Wolves should have plenty of options available come January.
