This summer saw Everton send Jonjoe Kenny out on loan to Schalke 04 in a deal that could be made permanent next summer, according to the Daily Mail.
It was a move that divided opinion among some Everton fans. Many feel the England under-21 defender has a potentially bright future. Others, on the other hand, have failed to be convinced by his performances when given a chance at Goodison Park.
He impressed on his debut for Schalke last week against Borussia Monchengladbach but had a far bigger challenge on his hands this weekend.
Schalke welcomed the Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich to Gelsenkirchen yesterday as David Wagner’s side chased an eye-catching.

Unfortunately for Kenny, it was a mistake from him that saw Bayern take the initiative in a 3-0 win.
He clumsily bundles over Kingsley Coman in the box to allow Robert Lewandowski to score the resulting penalty for 1-0. The Pole went on to add to more and complete a hat-trick as well as a comfortable win.
However, this mistake did not accurately portray Kenny’s display. The Everton talent did a fantastic job nullifying the threat of Coman for most of the match and was unfortunate to lose his footing at an inopportune time and give away what proved to be a crucial spot-kick.
But his overall performance will again have Schalke fans excited about the prospect of having the Everton man on board.
