Kieran Dowell has completed a permanent move to Norwich City from Everton and posted his delight at securing a move to the Canaries on Instagram – prompting reaction from Jonjoe Kenny and Jose Baxter.
Dowell, 22, has spent the past season on loan at Derby County and then Wigan Athletic – the latter of which have since gone into administration and relegated from the Championship, since their 12-point deduction.
The England Under-21 international only managed five appearances for the Toffees first team, instead going on loan numerous times. His best form came at Nottingham Forest, where he scored 10 goals and five assists in 43 games.
Dowell posted on Instagram after his move to Carrow Road was confirmed, where he has signed a three-year deal. He becomes Norwich’s seventh summer signing, after the club announced a move for Matthew Dennis from Arsenal.

Delighted to be a Canary ? can’t wait to get going in a couple weeks. Looking forward to seeing you all at Carrow Road ?? Would like to say a massive thank you to everyone at Everton for the last 15 years. Since I joined as a 7 year old I have had so many great memories and met a lot of amazing people along the way who have had a massive influence on me as a player and a person? Lastly would also like to thank all at Wigan Athletic. Really enjoyed my time there and am devastated we weren’t able to give the fans and club what they deserved in the end . ??
Despite his lack of senior outings for Everton, Dowell was a constant in the Toffees’ second string – scoring 15 goals and laying on nine assists in 55 league and cup appearances. Now, he will be tasked with gaining promotion.
The likes of Gylfi Sigurdsson, Bernard and others have kept Dowell’s chances at Everton to premium – potentially prompting to the Toffees. Everton star Kenny and former Toffee Baxter responded.
