Leeds United might have lost their first game under Jesse Marsch today at Leicester, but there was plenty for the new manager to look at and be pleased with.
Marsch himself said after the game how happy he was to see his team look to implement his new ideas just a week into the job. And at times, it has to be said that Leeds did look the much better side than the Foxes.

Alas, Kasper Schmeichel kept them at bay before a typical defensive switching off allowed Harvey Barnes to waltz into the area and fire past Illan Meslier in the Leeds net. But, despite the result, Leeds are already looking better in some areas, according to Jonathan Woodgate.
“Leeds have had the better of the chances in this game. They have created numerous chances. Caglar Soyuncu produced two fantastic blocks from shots. Leeds have looked really dangerous. On the counter-attack they have looked really quick. They have looked really organised. They have looked better than they did under Marcelo Bielsa over the last few games,” Woodgate said after the first half this afternoon. (BBC)
Defeat for Leeds sees them lying perilously close to the drop zone in the Premier League. However, Burnley’s hammering at the hands of Chelsea has cushioned the blow somewhat.
TBR’s View: Leeds With Work To Do But Plenty To Like
On another day, Leeds might have won this game. Raphinha missed a golden chance from point blank range and on other occasions, that probably finds the net.
Jesse Marsch was happy with his players and rightfully so at the end. Of course, it is a results business and that is what cost Marcelo Bielsa. But on first glance, things looked ok for the Whites.
The trick now will be to turn performances into results.
