Everton summer signing Jonas Lossl has made it clear he has his eyes on the number one spot at Goodison Park, even if that means usurping Jordan Pickford.
Everton snapped up the Danish international this summer following Huddersfield Town’s relegation to the Championship.
Lossl joined on a free transfer, signing a three-year deal on Merseyside.

Of course, he has been brought in as cover for England number one Pickford. With Maarten Stekelenburg turning 37 this season and youngster Joao Virginia off to Reading on loan, Everton needed another option.
However, speaking to Tipsbladet in his homeland this week, Lossl has made it clear he will not give up on his hopes of breaking into the Everton first-team.
“I see it as a big and fantastic challenge…
“I believe 100 percent that I can become a first-team player here. Whether it is while Jordan (Pickford) is here or when he’s gone, I don’t know. But I believe it.”
TBR’s View
Lossl is a very talented goalkeeper and Everton can count themselves lucky to have him available as back-up to Pickford.
However, the England number one has been in fine form over the past few months and it is hard to see how Lossl will find his way past him into the starting XI.
The Dane seems to suggest he may have to wait for Pickford to move on before he gets his chance. That might actually be the only circumstance that he ever does become the Everton number one.
