Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Lucas Bergvall has had quite an exciting year and it looks as though his future is shaping up to be a brilliant one.
The Spurs newcomer began the year by winning his first Sweden cap in a 2-1 friendly win over Estonia in January.
Then, at the start of February, Tottenham came in for Bergvall, securing his signature from Swedish side Djurgarden ahead of a move in the summer.
Bergvall duly arrived at Spurs in pre-season and much hit the ground running, featuring prominently in pre-season and playing in the Premier League.
And this week, the 18-year-old won his second cap for Sweden – and his first competitive one – as he came on in the Nations League win over Azerbaijan.
Although Bergvall wasn’t able to make much of an impact in his cameo appearance, head coach Jon Dahl Tomasson sung his praises after the 3-1 triumph.

Jon Dahl Tomasson backs Tottenham ace Lucas Bergvall for bright future with Sweden
One of the debates going into the game was whether Hugo Larsson would feature, but he didn’t get on the pitch.
Tomasson, speaking to Expressen, said he felt it was the right opportunity to give the Tottenham gem a chance instead.
“I know that Hugo wants to start matches and do better,” he said.
“When I made the changes, I felt it was the right match to give Lucas Bergvall the chance. We cannot have all the youngest players on the field at the same time.”
Meanwhile, DN quoted Tomasson as saying: “There is a lot of competition. We have several young players with great potential. Hugo is one of them.
“We also have Ayari, Nanasi and Bergvall today. There are four players who could mean a lot for the future of Swedish football.”

Tottenham have struck gold with Bergvall signing
Spurs’ scouting department deserves a lot of credit for the gems they’ve unearthed over the years.
Pape Matar Sarr and Destiny Udogie were relative unknowns when Tottenham secured their respective signatures, and both have gone on to become first-team stars.
It looks as though Bergvall can become a regular in the coming years, and then it’ll be exciting to see how Yang Min-hyuk fares when he joins Spurs next year.
