A number of Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to criticise Alan Shearer’s latest Premier League Team of the Week for not including any of the Gunners contingent, in particular Bernd Leno.
Mikel Arteta’s charges hosted West Ham at the weekend and claimed all three points thanks to Alexandre Lacazette’s 78th minute goal, the Frenchman tapping home from Mesut Ozil’s header.
Arsenal had a tense wait at the Emirates Stadium while VAR went over the goal, which ruled in their favour as Issa Diop had played Ozil onside by a few inches.
The Gunners’ clean sheet came about thanks to a superb display from Leno, who thwarted dangerous efforts from the likes of Sebastien Haller and Michail Antonio during the game and was a stout, reassuring presence throughout the encounter.
However, Shearer opted to pick Sheffield United’s Dean Henderson in goal instead, while the likes of Bukayo Saka and Dani Ceballos also failed to make the XI.
and some Arsenal fans weren’t pleased with their players’ omissions, giving their thoughts on social media:

Why does he hate arsenal players! Atleast Saka and Aubameyang would be on the team…

So Leno didn’t make this list after 6 saves in a game but Henderson made because he had just 3 saves… It’s okay. Secondly how on earth didn’t vardy made that list but giroud could. Finally gilmour made it ahead scott Mac. Despite silencing man city defense and scoring.its okay

Leno joined Arsenal from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer of 2018 for a reported £19million fee (BBC Sport), and has made 66 appearances for the Gunners, keeping 17 clean sheets according to Transfermarkt.
