Jack Grealish was amongst those to reply to Trent Alexander-Arnold on Instagram after the Liverpool star’s outstanding display against Arsenal on Saturday.
Alexander-Arnold seemed to have a point to prove heading into the clash at the Emirates. It was a surprise to many that he was left out of the latest England squad by Gareth Southgate.

But if Southgate hoped the decision would inspire the right-back, he certainly got his wish.
It was the 22-year-old who set up the opening goal in the 3-0 win. And it was an assist that saw the academy graduate produce an outrageous cross to find Diogo Jota.

In total, Alexander-Arnold produced four key passes. According to Whoscored, no other player on the pitch managed more than two during the contest.
He also made three interceptions. No Liverpool player managed more as Jurgen Klopp’s side put themselves right back into the mix for the top four.
Of course, it is threatening to be a defining period in Liverpool’s season. They now face the prospect of a Champions League quarter-final with Real Madrid.
And judging by Alexander-Arnold’s Instagram post, thoughts have already moved on from Arsenal…
However, that did not stop plenty of teammates for club and country lauding the youngster in response.
And Grealish’s reply probably summed up what many were saying when they saw the cross for Jota’s header…
