A number of Arsenal fans have been giving their thoughts on Emil Roback expressing his desire to make a “dream” move abroad amid reported interest from Mikel Arteta’s Gunners.

Earlier this year, Hammarby sporting director Jasper Jansson told Fotboll Direkt that Roback, a 17-year-old forward, had travelled to England to hold talks over a move with the Gunners.

Football London said Roback – a Sweden Under-17 international also believed to be on the radar of Bayern Munich – was given a tour of Arsenal’s London Colney training base.

The teenage striker made his Hammarby senior debut last week and, speaking after the game, made it clear he’s keen to ply his trade abroad.

“I’ve always had a dream of becoming a professional abroad. So we’ll see if I stay here or if I go abroad,” Roback told Fotboll Skanalen.

And, when asked whether he wanted to stay in Sweden or move to another European league, he simply said: “Abroad.”

Club scout Mikael Hjelmberg said of the youngster: “Emil is a forward with very good physique. He has an extreme speed, and is a natural scorer.”

While Arsenal’s form has improved, there has been much discussion amongst fans over the future of academy forward Folarin Balogun, who looks set to leave the Emirates Stadium.

With Roback a potential replacement, the Gunners fanbase has been discussing the two players, with some of the social media reaction below:
