John Terry says Manchester City have an 'unbelievable' star that no defender 'in the world' wants to face
Raheem Sterling is on fire. Hopefully, Italy’s defence on Sunday will be terrified. Certainly, they will be, if John Terry’s Instagram claim about Sterling rings true. Sterling posted on Instagram this week, and Terry replied to the Manchester City ace. He labelled Sterling “unbelievable”.
Sterling, 26, has been impeccable for England at Euro 2020. Scoring three in six games, the City man was inches away from a fourth against Denmark – only for Simon Kjaer to score an own goal. Gary Lineker said it was one of the best performances a player has produced in an England shirt.
Now, the former Liverpool ace and 65-time England international will be preparing to take on Italy in Sunday’s final. He posted on Instagram ahead of the heavyweight clash – England’s first final in 55 years – praising England fans. He ended the post with “bring on Sunday, under the arches”.
What has Terry said to Manchester City ace Sterling on Instagram?
While Harry Kane has won man-of-the-match awards against Ukraine and then against Denmark, Sterling has probably been our best player. His ability to go past players is unrivalled – but he has also scored goals, especially after critics had said he had not enjoyed his best season.
With that added pressure, Sterling has still managed to shine. It could have been very different had his mistake allowed Thomas Muller to score – or if he had let the save by Kasper Schmeichel get to him. Instead, he is one of the most-dangerous players at the tournament. Terry replied to his post.
