John Terry has Instagram praise for Arsenal player, despite defeat to Chelsea
Arsenal suffered a second defeat in two Premier League matches on Sunday afternoon as Chelsea cruised to a 2-0 win at The Emirates. Romelu Lukaku got a goal, as did Reece James. But Chelsea legend John Terry had praise for one Arsenal star on Instagram, raving about Emile Smith-Rowe.
It was a comprehensive victory in North London. Lukaku dictated the game for Chelsea, dominating Arsenal’s central defenders. He got his first Chelsea goal, tapping home as James found him with a cross. England defender James got himself on the score sheet with a thunderous finish.
Criticism is aplenty for Rangers at the moment. Fans are expectant and after more than £100million spent on new players, the pressure is on Mikel Arteta to get the best out of his players. But two defeats in two is worrying. However, Smith-Rowe is shining and Terry was impressed on Instagram.
Terry on Smith-Rowe: Arsenal youngster can stop rut
Arsenal are struggling. Defensively, they are all over the place and in attack – they lack a goalscorer. No goals, two defeats, defensive mistakes, and in 19th place in the Premier League. They need a spark from somewhere and they have a player in Smith-Rowe that can do that this season.
While they need more than just Smith-Rowe, Arsenal need to base their side around him. Get Martin Odegaard and Bukayo Saka either side of him, and Arsenal have an exciting attacking trio to play behind either Alexandre Lacazette or Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
If Arsenal are to improve, and have a good season – Smith-Rowe will be central to that.
