John Terry has posted a three-word Instagram verdict on Ezri Konsa’s performance as Aston Villa suffered a 2-0 home defeat to Tottenham Hotspur – praising the reported Spurs target, despite losing to Jose Mourinho’s side.
Konsa, 23, failed to prevent Harry Kane and Carlos Vinicius scoring goals as Tottenham put a poor week behind them – following defeats to North London rivals Arsenal and Dinamo Zagreb – to win 2-0 and jump up to sixth in the Premier League table.
The uncapped Englishman has been in excellent form this season, alongside England defender Tyrone Mings and under the guidance of Aston Villa coach Terry. Indeed, Konsa has been linked with a move to Tottenham – as well as Liverpool.
The Athletic have claimed that both Spurs and Liverpool are looking at the ex-Charlton and Brentford man – who is reportedly a Spurs fan (Athletic). Konsa posted on Instagram after the loss to Tottenham, ahead of the international break.
It remains to be seen how much Spurs or Liverpool would have to spend to sign Konsa but given Villa are progressing and under no pressure to spell – it is likely to be a hefty amount. The temptation to move to Spurs might be high, though, for Konsa.
Terry responded to his Instagram post with a three-word message, applauding the London-born defender for his efforts against Spurs despite Villa suffering a defeat which leaves them in tenth place after 28 Premier League matches.
