Former Arsenal and Celtic striker John Hartson has been comparing the merits of Scotland international duo Kieran Tierney and Andy Robertson.
The BBC pundit, speaking to the Daily Record, feels that 22-year-old Gunners new-boy Tierney is already superior on the defensive side of the game.
He said: “Andy Robertson, I would say at this moment in time he has better delivery but Kieran is a better defensive player. Kieran gets low and defends well and he can also play as wing-back if needed.
“I watched Robertson when he was playing for Dundee United when I was covering the game and he was good. Liverpool took him for £10m and now he is on fire.”

TBR’s View – Robertson is world’s best left back but Tierney will go to the next level in the Premier League
Robertson has been performing at such a high level for a number of years now that he has to be considered the world’s best left back; he has usurped Jordi Alba, Marcelo and David Alaba.
The Liverpool man is a better defender than Tierney too – because the latter hasn’t been tested against the same quality of wingers yet – but the Arsenal man will take his game to the next level in England.
He has absolutely everything needed to be a success south of the border and should be looking at England first choice Ben Chilwell as someone he can emulate as a young left back.
