Celtic centre-forward Timothy Weah has confirmed on social media that his loan spell at Parkhead has now come to an end.
The Bhoys still have two league games and a cup final ahead of them, but he has stated his deal with the Scottish giants is now up.
Weah posted on Instagram that he will be joining USA to participate in the Under-20 World Cup and that manager Neil Lennon informed him it was in his “best interest” to exit at this stage of the season.
The 19-year-old will return to parent club Paris Saint-Germain, but explained he would love to return to Celtic at some point in the future and was unsure on what his futures holds.
He has scored four goals in 17 games across all competitions during his spell with the Scottish club following his arrival in January.
Ex-Celtic striker John Hartson has assessed Weah’s time with the club and feels he never got enough time on the pitch to get up to full speed.
“Timothy Weah showed in spurts that he certainly has great talent.. never got him on the pitch enough in the 5/6 months he was on loan to see his true worth.. wish him well in the future,” Hartson wrote on his personal Twitter account.

TBR’s View:
Weah confirming his premature exit from Celtic on social media is bizarre and one that may not go down too well with supporters.
The American speed machine looked lively every time he got a chance on the pitch and had to make do with mainly appearances off the bench.
He certainly would have missed the Scottish Cup final against Hearts, as USA’s first match in the Under-20 tournament is the day before.
But it seems very odd the way the youngster is leaving and one that doesn’t reflect the club in a great way.
