John Hartson has ripped into West Ham’s new manager David Moyes for his comments about his success in the past.
The Hammers have reappointed David Moyes as their manager and he’s returned to the London Stadium for a second stint.
He’s replaced Manuel Pellegrini at the helm, with the club currently sat just above the relegation places in the Premier League table.
“What anybody is getting with me is an experienced Premier League manager, arguably there is only two or three who have got more than me,” Moyes said, as quoted by Football.London.
“I’ve got the biggest win-rate out of a certain number of managers as well. Put it that way, that’s what I do. I win.”
Pundit and ex-West Ham forward Hartson has criticised the Scottish manager for his comments and believes it was a bold statement.
Moyes has a 38.8 per cent win ratio in the Premier League as a manager, which is the fifth best record of all time of men to take charge of at least 300 games.
The 56-year-old is most recognised for his brilliant spell on Merseyside with Everton and it didn’t quite work out for him when he made the jump to Manchester United.
“What exactly is it you’ve won David?” Hartson wrote on his personal Twitter account.
TBR’s View:
Moyes will ultimately be judged by what he does on the pitch for West Ham, but it doesn’t look like his return has gone down too well.
There is more than enough talent in the current group to move away from the relegation positions and a fresh faee should inject some new life into them.
But he needs to try get West Ham in and around the European positions next season to be deemed a success.
