Arsenal were beaten 2-1 by Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League on Thursday to put manager Unai Emery on the brink of the sack.
The Gunners lost to the Bundesliga outfit at the Emirates Stadium in abysmal fashion, and it’s now seven games in all competition without a win – the club’s worst run for 27 years.
After the game, Emery said in his interview that he felt his side were ‘in control’ in the first half and his comments have wound a lot of despairing Arsenal fans up.

Former Arsenal striker John Hartson delivered a damning verdict of the Spaniard following his take on the game.
He said (Evening Standard): “To me, it sounded a bit delusional.
“It sounded like he’s hiding from the reality of his team is not quite good enough, the players are not performing to the level they should be. Three out of the back four, I wouldn’t even have in my team, I don’t think they’re good enough.”
TBR’s view – Emery comments a major concern
As if the defeat was not enough, Emery’s assessment of the game was really quite alarming.

He did come across as delusional as Hartson said, and that is part of the problem.
Unfortunately Emery appears to be unable to see his team’s shortcomings, and given the terrible run they’re on, that is highly concerning.
