Andy Lonergan will leave Liverpool as a Premier League and world champion and coach John Achterberg has backed him to do a job for someone else.
The journeyman goalkeeper was signed last summer primarily as a backup option, with Alisson suffering an injury in the very first game of the season.
His stay at Anfield was always only a one-year agreement and he will no be on the lookout for a new employer this summer.
Achterberg is a long-serving coach at Anfield and he took to Twitter to praise the departing custodian.

Lonergan featured on the bench six times for Liverpool during the 2019/20 campaign and leaves after a season to remember.
Obviously he won’t look back fondly on the number of minutes but training with world-class players each day and being part of memorable days will be something to tell the grandkids.
Learning from the likes of Alisson and Adrian can only bode well for the former Preston, Leeds and Bolton ace as he looks to secure his next club.
At 36 time is ticking on the career of the Preston-born player and he will hope to get himself fixed up quickly.
Players and coaches at Liverpool have spoken fondly about Lonergan’s attitude and as a model professional someone will surely take a chance on him.
