Glasgow Rangers have enjoyed a superb season, running away with the Scottish Premiership title while Celtic have endured a disappointing campaign.
However, former Ibrox midfielder Joey Barton is adamant that the Hoops will respond “as all great clubs do”, warning Rangers that they’re a “very dangerous” wounded animal.
Steven Gerrard’s charges have been nothing short of superb this season, remaining unbeaten in the league thus far and winning all but five of their league games en route to the title.

In contrast, Celtic were aiming for a historic tenth title in a row, but they’ve lost four and drew nine of their league games as they surrendered the title to their rivals.
Barton’s Rangers spell may have not been fruitful but he’s still fond of the Light Blues, saying he’s “really, really pleased” with their efforts this season.
He also praised Celtic for their “phenomenal” nine-in-a-row achievement and said the stage is set for an epic title tussle in 2021-22.
“Well done to Celtic for winning nine in a row, phenomenal achievement,” Barton told Sky Sports.
“But I think both having won nine in a row in their histories sets it up lovely for the future.
“It’s an incredible rivalry, and it’s a special football rivalry and it’s fully ignited it again back in Glasgow.
“The Old Firm is alive again, which I think is good for Scottish football, it’s good for British football and long may it continue.
“Celtic will respond because that’s what all great clubs do. They respond to a challenge. A wounded animal is very dangerous.
“Rangers have got to celebrate and let the dust settle on the 55. They’ll know what’s coming down the track from their rivals and they’ll be fully prepared.”
